Your Soul Knows – Chapter 18 – JohnA Passaro
I am nothing special;
Of this I am sure.
I am a common man with common thoughts,
And I’ve led a common life.
There are no monuments dedicated to me
And my name will soon be forgotten,
But I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul,
And to me,
This has always been enough.
Everyone alive at one time or another has fancied them selves becoming somebody, doing something with their life.
I am no exception.
Today I turn 50 years of age.
My initial reaction to turning 50 was I felt I hadn’t done anything with my life; I hadn’t become anyone.
Then I look across the room at Jess and I know one thing for sure.
I know my family knows I love them.
No matter what.
And that is who I am – who I have become.
And it is this knowledge which makes me feel I have achieved man’s greatest accomplishment.
That my life has meaning, that I matter, that I have made a difference in my family’s world and that I have somehow made the world a better place.
