A Good Man – Chapter 38 – JohnA Passaro
No one can build you the bridge
On which you,
And only you,
Must cross the river of life.
We all go through a period in our lives when we feel we are not where we should be.
The funny thing is, it is exactly where we need to be.
Coming out of high school in 1983, I envisioned myself doing so much more than working at a beverage center while commuting to college.
Looking back, if I had to compare the value of what I learned working at Peconic Beverage to what I
learned at college, the comparison wouldn’t even be close.
I learned more about life working with Bill than I ever learned anywhere else.
People are more important than things.
Some thirty-two years later, my son is in a similar situation as I was when I got out of high school.
He is not exactly where he thought he would be at this point in his life.
I know it is where he needs to be.
I only wish, with my second wish, that he will run into his own Bill during this time in his life.
A good man who will teach him what life is all about.
As for my third wish – I would like to offer it back to the universe so it can use it however it sees fit.
It seems to have a brilliant plan.
