Inside a College Wrestling Fans Head

It’s 9 pm and I turn on BTN expecting to see the Rutgers vs Iowa wrestling match featuring the anticipated brawl between Nick Suriano vs Austin DeSanto, and instead I get to see the last 3 minutes of a basketball game.

“Are you kidding me?”

“Ok, no problem, they’ll just delay the start of the match until the game is over, they would never start the match without being broadcast.” I thought to myself.

Until I noticed the scroll at the bottom of the screen saying the wrestling match will start @ 9:03 pm and can be seen in its entirety on the Fox Sports app.

“They are really going to stay with this meaningless game over showing DeSanto vs Suriano?”

My next thought was, “Okay, this may synchronize perfectly.

There are 3 minutes left in the game, and the match starts in 3 minutes. Perfect.”

But then fear set in when I realized the last 3 minutes of a basketball game realistically takes 10 minutes.

So I frantically try to download the Fox Sports App, where the match is being streamed in its entirety.

C’mon.

C’mon.

C’mon.

“What’s taking this app so long to download?

Why isn’t this spinning circle spinning faster?”

I’m nearly 6 minutes into the registration process for the app to watch the live stream when I abandon ship. I’ll never register in time.

Back to BTN.

Only :36 seconds left in the basketball game.

Which takes 5 minutes.

Foul.

Foul.

Another foul.

There is a loose ball with :11 left.

“Please don’t foul again.”

Finally, the game is over.

C’mon BTN, cut to the match.

I can probably see the ending to the Spencer Lee match.

“Are you kidding me, they’re showing the post-game hand shake?”

It’s now 9:08 pm.

Still may be perfect timing.

The DeSanto vs Suriano match should be the 2nd match, which would be starting around 9:09.

Anger sets I when I realize the high probability that Spencer Lee probably got a 1st period tech.

“Welcome, to the Iowa vs Rutgers match,” announcer Tim Johnson says as BTN finally gets to the match.

“Are you kidding me, it’s the 2nd period?”…

But somehow I’m just grateful to be able to watch the remaining few minutes.
